Ecuador, ‘the country of frogs’, scrambles to record its diversity

Ecuador is one of South America’s smallest countries but boasts hundreds of amphibian species. The country has 281.3 such species per 100,000 sq km, according to the BioWeb database from the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador (PUCE).
